Death-bed Romance
Who is this man?
Who romances me
From his death-bed
He fascinates me no end!
What is his purpose, I say?
Is it my body or life?- Nay!
It is for my soul he prays
One day to merge with his soul so gay!
Passions shared in a lifetime with another
He grudges me not, this strange stranger!
But after death he wishes for a merger
In a brave new world on the nether
Hey! But don’t be foolishly mistaken
Women in plenty, he has had- Houris in heaven!
But somehow for my soul his soul has craven
To cancer and me his life he has given
He lives like a friendly spirit around me
Heaped poems and paeans of praise on me
If I ask him- Preposterous, will it be?
To save his last death-bed dance for me!
